I was born in Malaysia in 1964, where English was not my first language (Hokkien, Sinneng, Mandarin, Cantonese, Bahasa Malaysia). However, as I read everything I could get my hands on, it soon became my best.

School, university, career

In 1981, I arrived in Australia where I did Years 11 and 12 at Blackwood High School, with a Matric score of 464/500.

I graduated from The University of Adelaide with a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Computing and Applied Maths. I have since worked in the computing industry, starting in sales at IBM, then a quick stint at programming before settling down to technical writing.

I met my husband Marty while living at St Ann's College. We were married in 1991 and now we have a lovely 8 year old son, Michael, and are just getting the hang of being parents.
